Mortise is a warm, honest template for builders, joiners and renovation firms, especially those who work on period homes. It is built the way a building firm wins work: show the jobs, show the before and after, be straight about cost and explain how a job runs.
Everything runs from the CMS, so you can rebrand and fill it without touching a layout:
- Projects: drag-to-compare before and after, project facts, a gallery and a six-stage diary with dates, notes and photos.
- Portfolio: filter the work by type, with the before photo on hover.
- Services: a page per service with typical cost, duration, what's included, related projects and FAQs.
- Cost estimator: pick a job, size and finish to see a price range and timescale, then send it straight into the quote form.
- How we work: five clear steps as stacked cards, plus payments and what you need from the client.
- Areas: a postcode checker that tells visitors if you cover them.
- Quote and careers forms with real sending, success and error states. Roles come from the CMS.
- Team, rotating client reviews with photos, and a journal of practical articles.
Crafted details: a cinematic hero, draggable carousels, count-up figures, scroll reveals and a photo viewer on every image. Everything respects reduced motion.
Fully responsive (tested from 320 to 1920px in Chrome, Safari and Firefox), keyboard friendly and accessible.
