Spool Framer Template

About this template

Spool is for art directors, photographers and designers who are tired of showing their work in a grid. Every project sits on one continuous strip of film. Your visitor scrolls, the film runs, and each frame develops from a contour into the finished picture.

Click a frame and it opens into the case study. The picture never leaves the screen, and a video keeps running through the switch.

One film, on every page

The strip: real WebGL, scroll or drag it, or use the arrow keys

Case study: the images play as a film, and the last stretch pulls in the next project

Contact sheet: all frames at once, a grease pencil circle follows the cursor

Menu: a small reel that unwinds with the page, then rolls out your whole archive

Three lights to choose from: Darkroom, Safelight, Lightbox

Video everywhere

Every image slot also takes a video, in the CMS and on the page

Videos play muted and loop, with the image as poster

On the strip only the frame in the middle and its neighbours play, so scrolling stays smooth

A brief that develops a frame

Four answers about scope, timing, budget and goal, on a native Framer form

Each answer exposes the picture further, and sending it winds the frame back into the roll

scope, timeline, budget, goal, name, email, fit and frame arrive with every enquiry

You know whether a project fits your minimum before you reply
