About this template
Heraldzine is a blog and magazine template with a modern layout and a medieval manuscript look: blackletter headlines, gold illuminated drop caps, painted borders with ivy and small margin drawings, and notes in the margins beside the text.
The home page opens with a large illuminated capital letter, the current issue's contents and a newsletter sign-up. Below it are a featured story, a pinned archive search that highlights matching titles in gold, category shields, a sideways-scrolling row of posts, author profiles and reader letters. A search palette opens from any page with Cmd+K or the / key.
It includes 11 pages: Home, Journal, Article, Category, Authors, Author, Newsletter, About, Search, Legal and 404, each with desktop, tablet and phone layouts. The CMS holds Posts (12 full articles with drop-cap letters and margin notes), Categories (5, each with its own coat of arms), Authors (6) and Letters (6). Articles have a reading-progress bar, author card and next/previous links.
Heraldzine is free. The magazine, authors and articles in the demo are fictional; photos are licensed from Unsplash.
